Howdy,
I'll be puttin the Thunder Tiger MD530 fuselage kit on my Raptor 50 Titan. If anyone is interested in this project, let me know and I'll post pics and tips. If you have already done this install, please post any comments and tips.

Be patient with the landing gear.
The holes for the rubber grommets are going to be bigger than you think.
BEFORE you try to install the gear prethread the gear legs with a tap or the screws you are going to use, that will save a LOT of cussing and throwing things.
Routing the exhaust out the back takes very little extra time and is worth it.

I just finished to scratch built a hughes 500D on the first page you see an after muffler I did with a spray can your are write about the oil getting trap in the low area, but it is not causing me any type of problem the only thing I have to do at the end of the flight is to tilt the heli on is tail to empty the oil that accumulated in the can 3 to 4 oz of oil

Howdy Mars,
Yes, I saw that pic of the exhaust when you first posted it. Just looked at it again. In my application, the exhaust port in the fuse is quite a bit higher than the muffler, even more than yours is. The potential for trapping is greater. I wont be performing any radical manuevering but I still would like to maintain optimum engine performance. It may not be much of an issue, however I enjoy figurin out these little details. I have an idea for incorporating a drain into the exhaust pipe that wont be subject to direct exhaust pressure. I'll post a pic when I have it built. Thanks for the help.

The installation begins. I've taken the fuse out of the box and taken some pics. First off, kudos to TT. The packaging was done very nicley with good support and protection for the fuse inside and out. Nary a nick,scratch,transit rash etc.. did i find. IMO, the quality of the fuse and parts is very good. Check out the pics. I will probably begin assembly sometime after the weekend as it is memorial.
Thoughts and prayers out to all those who have gone before me. Especially for all who have sacrificed everything for the greater good. I am thankful. God Bless, b&p

I just used silicon coupler tubing, available in a 1 foot qty at the local hobby shop. I've had no isses with the exhaust and get nothing but complements for routing it out the scale position, even if the real ones a turbine and doesn't smoke lol.
The glass is a bit thin which keeps the weight down, we will see how it holds up.
Make sure the mechanics are as perfect as you can get them so you dont have to yank it out of there often.

Hey 'Cuda,
I thought the fuse seemed a little thin too. I actually pulled it around a little just to see if it would stress crack and it didn't. Pretty good quality. The tubing tip is great but I have a thing for polished alum and stainless components, sort of a sickness. And, since weight isnt really an issue, I'm buildin' a custom after pipe. Totally unnecessary and insane. Hardest part is to admit it.

ps. There's a metal fab shop just a few blocks down the street from my office. These guys have been fabbin up stuff for me for a few years now and they cater to my insanity. I'm lucky that way.

hows the project coming along. I am thinking about doing the same.. I would love to see some pics if you have any of it finished or in progress. I just wrecked my 50tt pretty hard. bend main mast. thought they were supposed to be hardened. broke both frame sides also. I am happy though, I am getting better at flying and pushing my limits. (maybe thats why i wrecked it again) oh well, I injoy working on it as much as i enjoy flying it.

I didn't put the windows in, it runs with plenty of power for scale flying without ever getting over 190 degrees in flight.
