My father (Marvin Copfer) was cleaning out his garage and came across a bunch of American R/C helicopter parts he forgot he had…some of you old school guys might remember his name ;-).
Now, to answer to why he’s got so many misc parts, let me give you some background. In the mid to late 70’s, Dad worked quite a bit with John Simone Sr. and Jr. developing these heli’s. Both he and my mom flew with John Simone Jr. at model conventions, half-time shows at Angel Stadium, demo’s here, demo’s there…blah, blah, blah….well, they tore it up…literally…and crashed a bunch. That’s why there are so many misc parts.
Anyways, he gathered up all he could find, took inventory, snapped a few pictures and asked me if I could post them for sale…he thought a collector might be interested.
He’s looking for $200 (OBO) for the Rev 1 parts and $400 (OBO) for the Rev II parts or $500 (OBO) for the whole shootin’ match…plus shipping of course (See pictures).
Side Note: He’ll also have two Hirobo (mid 70’s) Bell UH-1B Iroquois for sale in the next day or so. I’ll post them here as soon as I get the pictures and inventory list. He originally built them for a movie (not sure which one…maybe “The Swarm”) but were never used. Both are complete but need electronics (and a little love) to fly. One has a half dozen flights, one has never flown…jungle camouflage scheme on both.
E-mail me directly if you’re interested ( BCopfer@EA.com ) or post here and I’ll try to check back as often as I can. Once they’re sold I’ll post back here that they are. If the received offers are lower than his asking price, I’ll wait a couple of weeks and go with the highest bidder (within reason ;-).
Thanks…

Thanks LT...
I should also mention (because it might not be entirely obvious) that the post may be titled "American R/C - Revolution I & II parts for sale"...but with either collection, you get the heli pictured and in all honesty, enough parts to build several more (especially with the Rev II).
A price is stated but it also says "Or Best Offer" (OBO). So, with that being said, I'm really surprised I've had so few offers. Its a chance for someone to have an extremely unique and now rare heli at the next IRCHA or fun-fly event.

Howdy Brian,
Quit that ... you're tempting me.
I've a got a few old Schluter Champions that I'm fond of ... even fly them on occassion. That's enough of the oldy but goody stuff for me.
The guy you want to talk to is Bob Buffington (Heli-Baby) ... he's an avid collector and flyer of old birds ... and one hell of a nice guy to boot.

Thanks Larry for the complement, I am not nice, just a old fart.
Hey Brain, what a great collection, had them all, I thought big money when I sold mine, but alas, no way. I almost gave them away. I hope you can get more.
It seems the old ships, even Schluter don't pull that much in?

LOL…you can’t resist to push…err…buy the shinny red button ;- )…lol.
Wow, the Schluter Champion…I remember those…<grin>…gr eat birds!!
Hi Bob…
Yep, its hard to get sell these older beauties.
These dang kids today just don’t appreciate the incredible skill it took to fly these suckers…and what they don’t realize how they’d be the envy of all their friends if they were able to get one! (a little tongue and check…plus cheesy sales pitch…;-).
Well gents, If nothing else, they’re some good pictures of a 1970’s heli autopsy…yes?
I’ll still leave the chops up here for sale…but I think I’ll also post around to additional sites (a little fishing)…to allow others to offer on this incredible deal!! (nudge-nudge) ;-).

Howdy Brian,
Red Button? ... you have one of those also?
How much and how fast can you ship it?
Seriously ... thanks again for posting this ... it's nice to know some of those old birds are going to be around for a while yet ... sort of like some of the old birds who flew them.

American R/C - Revolution I & II parts for sale 03-19-07 04:11 PM - Post#82538
In response to Mike Mas
Hello Mr. Mas...
Given enough input I imagine you’d might remember my father. I remember as a kid (perhaps 7 yrs old…late 1970’s) watching you fly several times. I don’t quite remember where because there were so many locations I use to travel to and watch Dad & Mom fly heli’s at, but I would imagine it would have been some sort of fun-fly or AMA convention…perhaps at the AMA Anaheim show.
Did you ever fly at the LTA Marine Corps air base in Santa Ana? They use to fly off the large, round helicopter pads by the hangers…that’s where he was stationed and did the majority of his flying.
Hope to see you fly in person again some day…

All of the American RC Revolution parts are now sold. Thank you all who looked at the posting and told your friends about it. Based on all of the responses, I was amazed on how many of these old heli’s are still flying and now I wish more than ever we had more of the original parts….sorry, all gone ;-(.
I also promised early on I would post the two Hirobo Bell UH-1B Iroquois he has for sale and still plan to...as soon as I get the pictures.
Thanks!!
