Hi guys Your opinion please. I just bought a new JR Venture .30 CP and haven't put it together yet. My hobbyshop told me it was a great machine for a beginner that could develop with the flyers experience. Yet on another forum (not related to Rotary) they seem to think it's a (sorry for the expression) 'piece of crap'. Should I bring it back? If so, what should I exchange it with? I want a comparable machine size and price. I'd rather keep this one! I hope it's just a case of "don't believe everything you read".

I have one of these same helis and I really enjoy it. I have not upgraded much yet, other than on board temp & volts. I bought the package deal from JR with G500T Gyro and XP6102 Radio. Powered by Webra .35.
With the trainer paddles on, this thing is rock steady in a hover, which is what I needed!
I would recommend this bird to anyone.
BTW I also read the other posts with the negative press.
Later, Nate

Hi Nate The comments I had read scared me so much that I've requested an exchange from my hobby store to a Hirobi Sceadu Evolution .30. I just don't want to regret my purchase. I want to have fun but don't want to waste my money either! Your reply is appreciated and I'm just curious as to what others in this forum may think?

'Freak;
You can't go wrong with the Sceadu for sure! I've heard many good things about those.
Enjoy!

return it and get the 50 size Venture! for $299 the heli gives you the power and added stability of a 50, especially when teamed up with the OS 50 hyper. I don't know anyone with the sceadu 30 but I have heard they are under powered and have poor engine cooling. I believe they fixed the cooling issue with the Sceadu Evolution.

The 50 would be a good choice, the 30 is a good ship. Get rid of the rubber mounts between the skids and frame they may split. Change out the pick up line, keep a good eye on the tank for the body rubbing. Some day replace the blade grips. I had streached mine to a 50 but it did not have the metal head, even with that I run the thing for years. I cant tell ya how many times I turfed the thing and rebuilt it, last time I split the frame set. I have a Caliber 30 at this point, sure flys much better than the Venture but I dont think it will take the beating the Venture did.
