Hey just a quick question...I`ve got a X-cell 4 stroke se with a YS .91 and just curious as to what fuel should i use to break-in the engine and which one i should use after break in. The instructions for the kit recomends 30% fuel. Any info would be great.

From evrything I've read and from the experience I've had with others, you should use the fuel you plan on flying with. Most I know flying your engine are using 30%.

Should I set the mixture needle about 2-3 clicks on the rich side. Or is there a better setting? Also should the low end needle be set to the rich side?

The needles should be set to where the engine is performing at its best.

Correct me if i`m wrong, but shouldn`t you run the engine a little rich during the break-in period?

i always break my engine in rich!!!! as for 4 strokes, my expierence, ive had a harder time with them, heli motors seem to run better than plane motors, 4stroke motors naturally spit alot of oil due to the high content of oil to keep the other parts lubed.
if you can get it to run good without stalling a few extra clicks out do it, i wouldnt fly it, i would just play with the throttle while the chopper is on the ground. a tank or 2 should be good!

i do not think you really need to breakin ys-91. just run (as suggested above) it 2 clicks open from the perfect tune. i've had my xlproii with ys91 since '97. had a major problem with that (valve got broken while inverted). fixed it now - seems to be okay, but i already ordered ys80 to replace 4stroke (due to the lack of power - i am in colorado, at 5200 feet).

watch your low end needle. in colorado (read thin air) i have 1 turn open for main needle and 3/4 open for lowend. pay attention to low end especially (when you close it - you make mixture rich, not lean). i do fly with 2-3 clicks (main needle) on the rich side.

good luck

Andrey.
