Ron Lund of Ricks Helicopters has the K&B 4520 glow plugs. I looked at them a day or two ago, there something like $2.75 each.

Yes, Anthony, plugs do make a difference. As you can see from the above mess, there are many differing opinions on what is best. What works best for YOU depends on many factors: engine, fuel, load factors, ambient conditions, etc., etc. What you need to do is post your specifics, and then we can offer some specific recommendations.

OS makes a good plug. Lots of people use them with good success. I did too; until I discovered Enya plugs. Now I prefer them, depite the fact that some folks think they are over-priced or whatever.

Like Steve I prefer the Enya plugs as well. I've not had one go out on me yet, though latetly I've been using Hanger 9 McCoy #3's with very excellent results.

As he mentioned. It would be helpful if you told us what you're flying, what engine/muffler/pipe combination is used, and the type of fuel you run.

I, myself, personally like the Enya 3-4's best. The only engine I ever had a "plug eating" problem with was the Conquest when I tried a .46 muffler on it and the combo of the small muffler volume and the inverted engine cost me $50.00 + in plugs in one afternoon (both KB 4520's and E#3's),my YS .61 doesn't seem to like the 4520's at all...the E3's seem to run forever, plus I've actually had Enya plugs run great right up to the time I shut the engine down and then refuse to start for the next flight...check the plug and it's a no-go (no-glo?), but it didn't quit during the previous flight! YMMV. Chris
