This is my first 60 sized machine. It appears that the Hatori muffler is designed to have the mounting bolts run the opposite way (nuts on the other side of the OS61 as opposed to the 32 that places the retaining nuts against the muffler). Is this correct? Also, what is the best way to secure the pressure tap fitting? Thank you in advance gentlemen.

With the Hatori you should be able to run the bolts through as normal on other muffler/engine combonations. To secure the pressure tap well either use Red loctite or better yet use a little bit of JB Weld.

Chris,
The Hatori is not tapped and the shoulders on the muffler prevent the nuts from seating against it.

Chris, the one piece hatori muffler included 2 bolts and nuts. The mounting holes in the muffler are not tapped, they are sized for the bolts to slide through. the seperate nuts, I assume, are intended to mount this thing to the engine. I have never seen an arangement like this before.

On My OS WC the bolts go through the header and the nuts go on the bolts on the engine side... What's the problem with that?

Cool, I've never seen a Hatori like this before, get to learn something new everyday. The ones I've had in the past the bolts were on the muffler side. Anybody have pics of this kind of set up?

If it's not tapped how are you supposed to able to get bolts through it in either direction. I had a one piece Hatori on my Ergo 60 for a while and the bolts went through the engine to the muffler like most setups. If the holes aren't tapped all the way through I would either send it back or finish tapping them through.
