I just put a brand new set of HS-55 servos in my new micro heli. One servo "drifts" and doesn't follow the stick commands precisely. I had it on the collective channel. I swapped servos and verified that the drifting moves with the suspect servo. What's up? Bad resolver maybe? I should have bought spares right off the git go, it takes time to get stuff here.

I have HS-55 servos in my Hummingbird micro heli and I have to adjust the trim all the time. It is very frustrating.

I have small Futaba servos on another helicopter and they don’t have that problem. The Futaba number is S3108 – I really like the response of these much better than the HS-55 or HS-56 servos. And they always hold the trim setting.

I am back in the US now. Glad to be out of Iraq and back at home in Omaha. The drifting problem was definitely a bad servo, I ordered a new one and replaced the defective unit -- problem solved. I may replace them all eventually with the Futabas, but for now I am trying to sort out the fine tuning. i also have another problem with my transmitter; but that's a topic for a new thread. Thanks for the advice,
Rick

How far did your servo drift? I got 5 HS55s and the only problem I had was when I put a futaba 410 (not 401) gyro and the heading lock fryed the thing..Did you crash it? If you did you could have made the serves hole for the POT open a bit and it thinks its getting a command. If you still got it, open the servo up and take a look inside for the heck of it. If any thing you got a whole bunch of spear gears..To bad I made the mistake of thrashing my case to get some parts out and I lost the gears in the end. Save all your broken stuff.. theres bound to be a use for it.
