i was just thinking about the position for the magnet on the fan. i installed one on a raptor 90 and had to drill a hole in the fan for the sencer. glued it in and reinstalled the fan assemblie back on the engine. spinning the motor around to ck for magnet clearance. i was thinking a good place to install the magnet on the fan is when the piston is at bottom dead center. i would think that position in crank shaft rotation would be the smoothest. just a thaught.

Installing a magnet on a fan.
You want to check the balance of the fan on a high point style balancer before you install the magnet in the fan.
Then if the fan has a heavy side, you want to install the magnet on the opposite( lighter) side of the fan.
Once this is done, the fan needs to be checked again on the high point balancer to see if the fan is balanced. If the fan is not balanced, then I suggest taking a drill and making divots removing material on the heavy side till the fan is balanced. A perfectly balanced fan is then installed on the motor for a smoother running setup.
