Hello All Multiplex Users,
Ernie Pritchard tells me we will soon see a 2.4GHz Tx RF module and receiver for the MC4000 and MC3030 Multiplex Radio Systems. Another nice Option!
Once I find out more information I'll post it here - If anyone knows about this please let us know.
Happy Flying,

Hello All,
Will it looks like Multiplex is really slow in deciding what to do with 2.4GHz.
But Xtreme Power Systems has TX modules and receivers for the Profi 4000, 3030, and the Evo series. Check them out at:

Hello All,
It has been some time since I have been able to get out to the flying field but that's all over now. Thank god for flight simulators!!!
Will I have three projects - testing three 2.4GHz solutions for my Multiplex MC4000:
XPS - Have already been doing Ground Testing
ACT - Start Ground test then flight test
Weatronic - Should be able to order this week.
Weatronic has been in the USA for a little while in the form of their large receiver than has found a home in Jets and the Large Scale Airplanes. I have yet to find any negatives posted. I have downloaded the receiver Programming software and started working with it. I will post a link to their website.
The Weatronic system has two way communication - the TX Module receives and stores inflight data onto an SD Memory Card. The Model I will get is the 12-Channel Micro receiver and matching TX Module Which uses two surface mount antennas that one can't see from outside the box! The Receiver is a Dual Receiver with two antennas much like as seen on the Airtronics receiver. There won't be any temperature problems with this receiver as it is tested at 80 degrees C - which means you should as you should with any receiver use proper installation techniques, to include Not mounting in direct sunlight, right next to your Turbo Jet Engine, have some ventalation, etc.
The receiver can be programmed to do many things, servo sequence, servo-channel assignment, Curves!, Failsafe, Alarms (remember the two way communication!), The pilot can use an earphone to be alerted to various conditions. I am really looking forward to these test and to putting this receiver into my models, I will order two receivers.
Check out the web site to look over the specs:

Hello All Multiplex Fans and Owners,
I got an email from Gerhard at Weatronic-USA and my multiplex TX Module and 12 channel Micro receiver are being sent to me today so I should have them by Monday or Tuesday of next week!
I am really looking forward to testing then flying the Weatronic and ACT Systems. Both systems are without negative comments so far and both have been flying in Germany/Europa for some time.
The Weatronic system has some more features and flexibility and for the large scale crowd the standard receiver with its 20 programmable servo outputs and its 8 on board Voltage regulators put it in a Claas of its own Period!
Either the Weatronic or the ACT systems will out gun JR/SpeKtrum, Futaba, Hitech ( Since Hitech now owns Multiplex it remains to be seen what they do with it ). Airtronics/Sanwa is the one Japanese Radio that I would consider buying these days ----- the reason? Like ACT and Weatronic, Sanwa comes from a very strong background in packet radio 2.4GHz type systems long before Futaba, JR or Hitech got into this game. Airtronics/Sanwa have always had the best RF Link of the Japanese Radios but again its because they are in the communication field to begin with.
Another reason I have been attracted to Multiplex and now ACT and Weatronic is that I see more willingness to be creative and to innovate.
The Weatronic and ACT systems give me a lot of confidence for my Avro 90 or any helicopter I will put them in. I just want to know that when I go out to fly that my main concern will be Me! Now after all is said and done, one must build, adjust, maintain, install equipment( Radios, gyros, etc. ), Engines/(Electric Motors & their Batteries, speed controllers), and take care of the Radio/servo system Batteries properly. No Radio on the market has a chance if all parts of the system are not taken care of properly!!! Thats why we like helicopters, an endless number of details to take care of --- and its so much fun to fly!
Oh yes, I have an unflown Spektrum 7 with extra receivers for sale ( $200 ). I am not going to need it! AND XPS MC4000 TX module and RX + for the same price.
I will look into converting my old PCM 9 to 2.4GHz using a Weatronic module, the PCM9 is of course PCM but I may be able to bring the PPM signal out from the trainer connection to the RF Module, I will have to see what JR did and what I might do. I still like my old Pot radios, And then there's the PCM9 Single stick and Century 7 Single Stick! ??? Hmmmm.
Happy Flying,
Cherokee Jim Mahoney

Hello All,
I just talked to Ernie Pritchard and it looks like Multiplex will very shortly have their own 2.4GHz solution!
We have a choice of Weatronic, which I have just installed and ACT and now Multiplex itself. No details yet.
Ernie said both MC3030, MC4000, and EVO will be covered.

Hello All,
Range checked the Weatronic 12-channel system I installed on my MC4000 yesterday -- better than 300 feet in low power range check mode ( 1mW ), I didn't run out of range - I ran out of space at work! I will go to a different location this weekend where I will have a few thousand feet of space.
Spending some time with the software, TX and RX. The reading data from the receiver is a real working feature, not fiction. Received signal level from the two receivers, Battery voltage, temperature.
It is the Complete Package that sets the Weatronic apart from its Japanese counter parts. Weatronic is just in a class of its own!
The larger Weatronic receivers with built in Voltage Regulators, GPS, Gyros, Connectors for 20+ servos ......... If you have a Big Scale Project These are The Receivers to use!
The one thing that I would like to see changed is the two switches on the TX Module should have some tactical feel to them, it is a little difficult to tell when the switch is really depressed.
I press the switch and it is probably depressed but I can't tell so I press all the harder --- this is usually not a good thing!
The experience of the Weatronic design team really shows, they were using the same techniques, as was ACT, when their products were operating at 35 and 72MHz, so the overall technique is the same and well tested.
Gerhard at Weatronic-USA has been very helpful all the way, he is getting product as quickly as he can, Weatronic is really working to the limit to keep up but they won't do anything that would compromise Quality! That's as it should be!
For those old enough to remember, there was once a 6 to 9 month waiting list to get an Orbit Proportional Radio!
Happy Flying,
Cherokee Jim Mahoney
