Hello All,

I just sent my Profi 4000 in for a five year checkup, remember the memory backup battery needs to be replaced every 4 or 5 years and mine was just a little on the low side but I was lucky.

Back in November I noticed that my ground range had droped about 15% and as it turns out this matches how much my TX output power has dropped!!!

I sent in my receiver and transmitter so Ernie could check the tuning, the transmitter was 15% low in output and 250Hz off in frequency - the limit for frequency is 500Hz so it was OK but Ernie adjusted it spot on. All electronics will change over time so it is not unusual to need a little readjustment from time to time - this is true for all radios - JR - Futaba - Airtronics - Hitech ....

Earnie also did the latest factory mods for the TX and RX, and he replaced the RX antenna at my request - the new antenna has Teflon insulation and has a steel wire center core, the steel wire wraped with copper wire for strength. In normal use the plastic insulation becomes brittle and needs to be replaced.

Ernie also carefully checks the TX pots and switches. He even cycled the TX battery pack and tells you the results!

Everybody nomatter what radio you use should send them in for a 3 to 5 year check up ..... one crash is going to cost you much more!

On a side note - Ernie's wife has just returned home after having a serious Stroke - so Ernie Pritchard is taking Loving Care of his Wife and of our Multiplex Radios!!! My hats off to you Ernie!

Happy Flying,
