As RC Man mentioned, the the Shuttle has pretty much seen its best days but still does fly good. If you have one, stick with it, you can learn to fly on it as well as any other machine, However it might be debatable how much performance increase you'll achieve with the upgrade parts.
With regard to the quality of the upgrade parts they are great quality - pretty much what you would find on a TSK or Quick heli.
