Just recently I notice a chattering noise when moving the T/R servo. Seems the chatter is caused by the T/R link rod vibrating in the 2 side guides on the main frame. Servo seems to work fine and there is no binding. But if I put my finger on the link rod I can feel vibration caused by the servo. If you are familiar with stepper motors you will know the feeling. The other servos are 3151's which have a smooth feel to them. Just never noticed this before and I found my son's 9254 servo has the same stepper feel to it. Just wonder why I never noticed it before. Is this normal? |

Most digital servos chatter as you call it. The digital tail servos are the ones that are noticed most. They are hooked to the gyro which is sending a signal to the servo to constantly maintain heading. Even when sitting on the bench. The time to worry is when the servo quits squealing or chattering <G>. David |
